I recently read an article about the president of Ireland calling on schools to ban homework for young students. He says that banning homework would allow students more time to pursue creative activities outside of their school hours, and I have to say I agree with him. As a child I found that homework was often just busy work and didn't involve any real thought and didn't advance my knowledge of my school subjects, and as a teacher I try to only give my own students homework that is relevant to their own development of their language skills.
